Simon Aslaksen Fossum:   Born at Fossum Iron-works August 14, 1815 by parents Aslak Pedersen and Ingeborg Simonsdatter.
He married Sept 21, 1837 Anne Christophersdatter Bøe, who was born November 3, 1814 on a place under the farm Bøe, by parents Christopher Nielsen Bøe and Hedevig Engelbretsdatter.
 
They had the following children:  Christopher (b. Bøe April 19, 1841), Ivar (b. Pine Lake Aug 28, 1844), Hanna (b. Pine Lake May 4, 1847), Anna Martine (b. Pine Lake Oct 9, 1849), Karen (b. 1852 ?), Nels (Edward) (b. Pine Lake May 17, 1854), Severin (b. Pine Lake Apr 4, 1857)
 
Christopher (1841) was a travelling salesman in Swaledale, Iowa and lived 1880 in Clear Lake, Iowa with his wife Roena and two daughters Anna and Ida.
Nels (Edward) (1854) was administrating the Norwegian-Danish Methodist Church's Clerical School in Evanston, Ill from 1885..

Simon and Anne are buried at LaBelle Cemetery at Oconomowoc, Wis. They died as Norwegian Methodists.(1)

1. Simon Aslaksen (Aslagson) Fossum (8-14-1815 to ?) Simon was born at the Fossum Ironworks. m. Anna Christophersdatter Boe (11-3-1814 to 1889) on 9-21-1837. She was born on a place under the farm Boe to  Christopher Nielsen Boe & hedevig Engelbretsdatter. They immigrated on the American vessel, Argo from Le Havre, France in 1843 & settled at Pine Lake & later on what later became the Dale Hessilink farm on Erin Rd. in the Town of Erin. Simon was a charter member of St. Olaf’s Congregation when it was organized on Dec. 3,
1844. The St. Olaf’s congregation elected Erik Helgesen, Peder Danielsen, Kjel Andersen, Ole Andersen, Simon Aslaksen, Peder Ness and Christian Moen to the building committee on Dec. 13, 1847 to build the first church. Simon Aslakson was a trustee at St. Olaf’s in 1860. (Mar.16,1889 Obit.:) “Anne nee Christophersdatter Aslackson, wife of Simon, died in Milw. She was born in Fossom, Norway. They emigrated to this country
in 1843 and lived in Nashotah til 1845 when they moved to their farm near Alderly. They lived there nearly 40 years. She was a member of the Norwegian Methodists. They sold the farm in 1885 and seemed to have no descendants in this area.

              Simon & Anne later were Norwegian Methodists in Oconomowoc. Buried at LaBelle.

Severin was a Methodist minister and in 1901 he converted from Methodism to Christian Science. In 1927 he wrote a semi-autobiography entitled "From the Methodist Pulpit into Christian Science." The first chapter deals with his family's migration to Wisconsin and his early life in the area.
