Jorgen (Gergen) George) Nielsen Loberg Sondre (G.N. Loberg) (9-29 or 24-1815 to 2-2-1884)  Jorgen was born on Loberg Sondre in Gjerpen.  He immigrated with his brother, John, on the Salvator in 1843.  m. Gurine (Garena) Isaksdatter Hynie (3-14-1813 to 11-8-1894) (widow of Lars Rasmussen) on 7-9-1845 in the Loberg house on what is now the Wilhelm Weber farm just north of St. Olaf’s Church on the east side of what is now Hwy. O.  (See Lars Rasmussen file.)  Jorgen settled in the Town of Ashippun on the 80 acres in the S1/2 SE1/4 Sec. 24 where he was issued a land grant in 1844.  This was later  the LeRoy Gennerman farm on Hwy. O just north of St. Olaf’s; later was the Portz farm, later was the Weber farm.  Ever Larson lived here sometime before Gennerman.  In 1844, Lars Rasmussen received a land grant to 40 acres In the NE1/4 SW1/4 Sec. 24. This later became the Nels Isaacson farm.  Therefore Lars and Jorgen were close neighbors.  It is unknown if and where a house was located on the above Loberg parcel.  Loberg also owned 25 acres in the E1/4 N1/2 NE1/4 Sec. 25 by 1885.  Perhaps his house was on this parcel.  We do know that Loberg later lived on the 80 acre parcel.  Jorgen Loberg was a charter member of St. Olaf’s Congretation when it started on 12-8-1844.  Elected to have charge of St. Olaf’s graveyard in 1861.  Jorgen sold the land for the graveyard to St. Olaf’s Church.  Jorgen was listed as George Loberg in the 1866 assessment list.  He is buried at St. Olaf’s.
(children of Lars Rasmussen & Gurine Isaksdatter)
     2.  Isak Larson Loberg  (1843 to 9-24-1855)  Stepson of Jorgen & son of Lars Rasmuson  the first husband of Gurine.  Age and date of death are per St. Olaf’s records.  This is confusing because he is not listed on the ship’s passenger list with Lars Rasmussen, his father, and Gurine Isaksdatter, his mother and they were not married until 4-21-1844.  He is also not listed with his parents on the early families of St. Olaf’s.  Vesterheim does not list him.  He is only found in the death records as being born in Gjerpen and being age 12 on 9-24-1855 at the time of his death.
     2.  Lars Larson  (8-4-45 to 4-18-47)  Stepson of Jorgen & son of Lars Rasmuson the first husband of Gurine.  Lars’ was the first recorded baptism in St. Olaf’s parish.  It took place on September 7, 1845.  Lars Rasmussen died in 1845 and Gurine then married Jorgen Nielsen Loberg.  Lars was Jorgen’s stepson.
(children of Jorgen Loberg & Gurine Isaksdatter)
       2.  Niels (Nelson) Loberg (2-1-1848 to 3-8-1895)  Died in Utah.  Buried at St. Olaf’s.  Inger Andrea  (4-18-1854 to about 3-13-1887), daughter of Hans Gunderson m. Nils Jorgensen Loberg, son of Jorgen Loberg, on 4-18-1876.  (See Hans Gunderson file.)
     2.  Isak (Isaac) Loberg (1-12-1850 to 5-9-1925)  Lived on family farm with sister, Anne.  Living with mother, father, and sister, Anne, on farm per 1880 census.  Took over the farm after his father’s death.  Was still operating it in 1910.  By 1915, Albert Gennerman owned this farm.  Albert still owned the farm in 1941.  Isak was buried at St. Olaf’s.  Isaac and sister, Anne were living together in 1900 per census.  Living with them was Christian Christenson b. 4-1880 per 1900 census.  He was b. in Wis.  His parents were born in Norway.
     2.  Anne (Anna) Martine Loberg (3-11-1852 to 8-30-1921)  Buried at St. Olaf’s.  Lived with brother, Isaac, in 1900 per census.
